It had been a long ride. News trickle slowly to my point of old mother earth. I heard you passed on while working on your Hog.
You and that bike, it makes me smile to think of you two. One of a kind yall were, if one was broke the other was broke.
We rode many roads together on our steel horses. The big twins pulsing and the sound of music from the pipes.
Till we parted ways one Sunday. Me going to Mexico, you getting married to your Old Lady.
I watched as yall rode off. That Old Motorcycle you loved, you and your Old Lady. Did not hear about yall for a long time.
Got word that you had opened up a small Harley repair shop and was doing really well.
Me I never did settle down, Just riding the Biker trail from town to town.
Job Here, Job There, but missed my biker riding friend all those years.
I wish we could ride together one more time.
I hear it was your dying wish for you and that Bike to be together even in death.
I see you got your wish, your old bike sits atop your grave and you are resting peaceful now. Your Old lady made sure you got your wish. She is a good woman.
Maybe when I die we will get together one more time for a ride as I pass through those Pearly Gates.
I kneel here before your grave to honor you and to say a prayer for you and your Old Bike. I hope that you forgive this old friend for taking so long getting here.
God take care of this old Biker that lays here. He was a good man, good rider, Loving husband, Great friend. Lord if you need your Harley fixed the old biker that lays here is a number one mechanic.
Live Free, Ride Hard, Ride, Ride Ride old friend. Rest In Peace. Amen

To those that posted a response, Thank you for the comment and view.

It was just a way of coming to meet with the closing of a ride with a very good friend that left a footprint in the "Sands of Time". All bikers know this person, for one time or another they have ridden the highway with a friend. Just look to the person your riding with or the one you just rode with.

The "Ghost of this Old Biker" rides with each and everyone of us!

To those that reach out and talk to a Ghost from the past I am glad that I helped you to think back to those Times! Except try not to be as slow as I was.

Well,  gonna go "Chase a Cloud"

Great words, shows that "brotherhood" transcends time and place.

hearfelt words, well put..

ride on brother for beside you rides an "Old Bikers" Ghost.

We ride down life's lonesome highway and just around the bend,~ stands the golden gates to glory right at it's end.

At these gates a hooded cloaked brother stands as their keeper,~ he's the last brother you meet "THE GRIM REAPER".

Ride on brothers the gates to glory are just ahead,~ all your brothers are here and your lifestyle here is not dead.
