I bought a 77 ironhead sporty way back and took the course then parked it in the garage. Fast forward 15 years.  Got rid of the baggage in my life and looked at that old sporty sad, a bit tattered.  Called up the local bike shop said come get her. $3K later she's like brand new. I took the course again and been riding ever since, vowing to never let anyone tell me I cant ride.  BTW I now have a 09 1200 XL low and love it. I still have the old 77, and oh yeah  Im 60... you're never to old to follow your dream... Ride On!!

I've been thinking of taking the course and getting my endorsement. Just not sure yet. Thanks for sharing your story.

Congrats!  I love my 883, but will move to a trike when I am no longer able to handle two wheels!  Keep the shiny side up!!!!

Great story! I ride a Sportster 1200 and so enjoy it. There is just something about riding that brings such a BIG smile to my face. A dream come true...Love it!

very cool. My husband taught me to ride. I've driven or rode anything with a clutch. In 2005 he said let's go buy a bike. Went to the dealership sales person asked my husband what kind of bike you looking for. He said ask her. We bought an 883 sporters. In 2008, I got my endorsement. I love the ride. Enjoy yours. Life is to short to sit still.

Right on! Good for you! I'm 47, just got my license. I love being on the back too. But my "friend" insisted I would LOVE riding my own even more. SO HE BOUGHT ME A BIKE! WOOHOO! Can't say no to that. If life begins at 50 then I just got a head start! ;-)

I started at 53 after the bike I was sharing with my then boyfriend left. I decided if I wanted to keep riding I'd have to do it for myself. My first bike was a 1200 Sportster and I now have a Softail Standard. We'll together along time,she's perfect for me!
