Hello, everyone just calls me Horn, I am 51 and been riding since I was 15.I love all bikes! let's get that clarified from the start,The different looks, the different sounds, yea it's fair to say I love all bikes.I love Harleys and have owned a couple, however my Back and my bank account these days prefer Hondas.I'm old and broke, get over it.lol.Really though, doesn't it all amount to the same thing? The wind in your hair, the sun on your face, and the road rushing underneath your feet as you and this magnificent piece of machinery hurl yourself along the road.

The ride I wish to relate was an unexpected ride that turned out to be one of the best ever. Several years ago my girlfriend and I decided to go to the rally at Cherokee North Carolina. Since we had to have our truck anyway I decided to trailer my bike and ride with her. As we rolled along this forever curvy road watching a beautiful rocky stream I keep hearing this weird noise from the back of the truck, Just as I am looking around to find the source of the noise, I see my 2004 Honda fall over like someone had just shoved it. By the time I said "Oh shit" I was pulled over and headed to get my bike up.

Luckily it was just a strap broken and I was amazed to find just one  little scratch on the tank.So here we are in the middle of nowhere with broken straps and no place to get one. YEP, time to ride.

As I fired her up and heard the pipes echo through the rocky stream, I knew I was in for a great ride. As the miles rolled along I noticed the little off the road places, the folks sitting on their porches, waves from little kids as I passed by and thousands of other things you will never notice driving a car.

The curves themselves lent a little more excitement to the ride, as the road  turned out to have apparently been cut out by a drunk man chasing a snake through the hills. As I lulled into that Zone we all get when we are one with the bike, I realized I had this big smile on my face that was not going away tonight.

As we rolled through Cherokee, with the po po pulling every other bike over, traffic bumper to bumper and partying everywhere,  kind of wished the ride hadn't been over so soon, but by the time we got to camp to have fun with our buddies and we told our tales of rides past, my ride wasn't too past and I had this big ass smile on my face.

Ride safe,Ride free my friend

Anybody in the treasure coast region want to ride or meet up at Archies on the Beach, Ft. Pierce this afternoon? Planning to cruise up from Palm Beach on this golden day. ETA Archies maybe around 2 or 3.

You old goobers shouldn't still be riding.. wait a minute !! I am 67 and love my ZRX 1200. I rode my son's 1200 but it was like riding a Briggs Stranton 5sp Lawn tractor I can't seem to keep the speed down and must take the Barnett springs out of the clutch and put the stock ones back in.. Arthur has tried so hard to take over my fingers.. so I must Ride about every day. to keep them loose.. Ride Safe..

Big Papa: The bike I wrecked in Canada was a '84 Nighthawk 700 - hands down the best machine of any type I have ever owned. Black and blue, quick and gorgeous. Owned it for 15 years, only ever needed rubber, oil, gas and brakes. Enjoy that restore!

Horn, I've had back surgery on 1 disc and have 2 that they won't operate on and even after several hours of riding, I have very little pain or stiffness...I just "soften up " the shocks a little and ride...Frame on both bikes are very similar with the backbone on the 700 being a little more pronounced. In fact I'm looking at another 750 over in Alabama to rebuild...I like the look of the "old" bikes...No "camouflage" in the body style

@big papa I took a look at ur page, love ur scoot, in fact I am currently in the process of buying a  1985 vt700 that looks almost identical. Are those easy on old backs?

Hey Horn...Take a look at my baby...1982, CB750SC NightHawk...Been restoring and riding for several years now... I'm 60 and have also ridden my share of other bikes but I always seem to come back to the "Reliable, Old Honda's"....Several tales can be told of here in Ga. and the Appalachian Mountains strain...Some good; some not-so-good...Keep riding and smiling...I'll be doing the same
