kickstand is an eagles leg with talons that support the bike, very ornate and goes with the whole bird motif of the bike. any experienced rider would know that if the stand was down while leaning into a turn like the photo displays, the bike would have been laying in the middle of the road, spike would have spread his wings and gently lowered mike back down to the ground....just sayin

kickstand is parallel to bike and wrapped in heavy leather, also the bird is in crouched position, just my 2 cents.(moving)
