Thanks for the feedback Ryan, Pastor Rod, and Feelthethunder! Looking forward to next year when I get home and pick the pick up at a local dealership. It does need to be loud for sure.

Just bought a '12 FLSTC and i absolutely love it. picked it up a few weeks ago on my days off , rode as much as possible, and fell in love instantly. i have since been waaaaay up North working for the last 2 weeks and fly home Friday. I can't wait to get back on her. this hitch seems to be the longest ever! I am taking a month off this summer to cruise to the Shuawaps in BC. Going houseboating but now i am more looking forward to the trip to, around and back! Owning a HD has been a lifelong dream of mine and i finally made my dream come true!
Ride on my friends, see you on the open road!

Biscuit, I put Vance & Hines slip-on on mine. They sound great and sometimes when I'm in a parking lot or especially a garage they will set off car alarms, my 12 year old loves that. There are a lot of options available and I'm sure that you will get most of them on this forum. Good luck, stay safe and come home. Thanks for your service to our country!!!!

Okay I have now ordered a 2013 Heritage Softail Classic through the Harley Davidson Military Sales Program for $17,000 here in Afghanistan. That's a $2,000 savings over MSRP in the states. I will pick it up in New York next year when I get home God willing.

My next question is about the exhaust pipes. I would like them louder than factory pipes. I have looked online and see lots of choices. Since I am new to all this stuff, can I get some feedback/advice regarding louder pipes?

Thanks.

I own a 2002 Heritage softail and I love it. I started out on a Honda and I got smart in March 2011 and bought my Harley. I can't believe the difference in the handling is from the Honda.. I wouldn't trade my Harley for anything now.
