I ran across this story tonight and wanted to hear thoughts and opinions from everyone here on the subject.

MELROSE PARK, Ill. (CBS) — On-duty, they are police officers who took an oath to enforce the law.

Off-duty, they formed a motorcycle club that looks like it supports outlaw biker gangs.

And as Pam Zekman reports with the Better Government Association, law enforcement officials say they can’t do both.

Sounds like they wanted both life styles and found they can only have one. With what they said they wanted in a MC there is one that has both LEO's and FF's also one with just LEO's. That are on the so called straight and narrow. So I don't think they had being on the straight and narrow on the mind when they formed their MC.

They started out right. Then they showed weakness...followed by showing their ass and finally...they quit. Case closed.

Jake you might be right, but they could have also just wanted to do their own thing. Now Im not a fan of cops in general, but I kinda feel they got a raw deal.

I think everyone hear knows why they asked permission. And perhaps wearing a support patch wasnt the keenest idea, but to bring up how similar their reaper patch looks to another reaper patch is silly if you ask me. Sure there are different ways to draw a reaper but in the end its still just going to be a hooded skeleton with a sickle. If they werent breaking any laws, I dont think they should have been forced to choose between their jobs and their club.

Three piece patch kinda tells me that they were on the outlaw side. Am I right ?

Not necessarily, a three piece patch just shows the insignia in the middle, name of club on top, and chapter(city, and state) on the bottom. All clubs, good and others, carry 3 patches, usually. Outlaws and 1%'s should not be labeled by the previous post statement made above.

Good PR actually, and a way to do recon with the not too bright ones. I get what they were doing - they did it wrong.
