Hey are there any motorcycle campers around here? Im thinking about taking a multi day camping trip this spring / summer. Once the weather warms up a little I will start with a few one night shorter trips to work the bugs out. Right now Im looking for those that either have or do go motorcycle camping to get the good the bad and the ugly about it. What do you take and what is just a waste to take along? I guess for me its- I need to go a little further to clear the head than just the typical rides I ve been going on.

Thanks - Todd

I used to do a lot of bicycle camping when I was a kid. A few weeklong tours. Very similar to motorcycle camping. A lot depends on the number of people going, and where you plan on camping.
We have a few people going to leesburg in april for bikefest.leaving on friday. we just take tent sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. play the rest by what ever happens or needed. if you go to the leesburg bikefest web you can get more info. we are shooting for the abate area but if not we can go out to windy acers farm. that looks good to your welcome to ride along with us. I also think that we have someone leaving on sat but thats up in the air right now

We camped at sturgis 2 years ago, we brought a tent an air mattress, 2 sleeping bags 2 folding chairs, a bag for cloths, a small computer. I will admit we looked like the beverly hilbillies going to CA. It was fun
Thanks for thein put so far. I actually was planning on going to Leesburg in April for my "test run"camping trip. Its kind of funny that the group of friends I have that ride give my a very strange look when I mention this topic. Oh well their loss.

Kinda funny how the bags get really small real quick! The hard part about this idea is for the most part it will be by myself. Which actually is a big benifit.
