KenB are you kidding me? Did you really just say the guy deserved to get his throat slit because he cut someone off? Your "opinion" is ridiculous, but hey, thats my opinion. Stuff happens, and yes, perhaps he should have been more careful, but the way I see it, no one was injured by the cutoff so to cut the guy seems a bit extreme.

I dont think they are trying to make this guy a hero, and there certainly is enough blame to go around. I also feel that the friends and family deserve to know the truth. If the police had done the right thing, why would there be a need to lie? Someone has to watch those that are tasked with watching the public. Again, its sad that someone lost their life, and Im not defending the guy. His excess speeds put his life at risk just as much as the cop that pulled out in front of him. As far as I am concerned, both should take blame for the fatality.

I think the point that both Steve and I were trying to make is that why bother with the hassle of using a novelty helmet. There are plenty of helmets out there, I am sure you can find a DOT one thats comfortable to wear. As I have already mentioned, I am lucky enough to live in a state where I dont ever have to wear a brain bucket, and I rarely do, but when I know I will be heading through states with mandatory laws, I wear it.

Only two of those states require helmets for all riders. I dont know how closely they are looking for DOT approved in those states and never really worried about it since my lid is DOT. I really cant stand wearing a helmet, and IL has no helmet laws so it works out well.

We were going to make it a weekend trip but you are right, Im close enough to ride there for the day

If you are talking about HDs 110 anniversary party, I want to go, and I will be up there at some point, but I dont know if it will be during the party. Still trying to work out the details with a friend that I will be riding up with.

Dusty, I know its not as rigid as I was making it seem, and that was kinda my point. I understand where you are coming from. I certainly wouldn't want to log into BP and see severed limbs, or anything else that could be considered disturbing and BP already has TOS that should cover most of that. The rest should be left up to good judgement. Motorcycles are what brought all of us to the site, and certainly the focal point should remain as such. I dont think posting photos should be a free for all, it should fall within the TOS, but some leeway isnt going to kill the site either. After all, we all use the site for various reasons. Some only come to read the motorcycle posts and leave. Some of us chat it up. Some like sharing their photos.... All Im saying is that the change that was implemented would seem to be the best solution for everyone. Assuming that people use the tools properly.

I am going going to call a few people out that have mentioned they dont post anything non Motorcycle Related from this page (6). Scottray -- One could argue that your thermometer that shows 25 degrees isnt motorcycle related. Goneriding -- You agree with Ned, and arent looking for dates or reposts, yet I fail to see how that dog (or is it a wolf) is motorcycle related. Now I realize that calling a few people out that are against the idea might seem a little childish, but its to prove a point. The thread was started in response to things people were posting on their walls, or other peoples walls. These things, as well as forum posts all get thrown into the news feed that everyone sees when they first sign in. What if I wanted to post pics from my MC trip? Sure they could be considered related, but only if you know it was from the trip. That said, those of you that think being able to tag things as Friends Only is somehow going to turn this into the next facebook clearly dont understand how online communities function. As I have previously stated. I understand BPs desire to keep the site focused on all thinks biker related, but without the user base (read online community) the site would dry up pretty quickly. The new feature just allows everyone to get the most out of the site, without cluttering it up, with that stuff some of you claim you dont want to see. Here’s the thing I think a lot of you are overlooking. There are a lot of regulars the frequent this site. Which is great, but that’s the foundation for a community. Like it or not, people are going to make friends and from time to time non biker related information will get posted. It’s just the nature evolution of any website that wants people coming back to it. I know that I have posted some a few things that I have found around the internet on either my wall, or on someone else’s wall. That stuff all gets sent into the feed that shows up on the main page, and that’s more the issue, as I am certain the site already has an off topic section designed for non-motorcycle related stuff. One could easily argue that the groundhog photos that I posted on my own wall earlier in the year were not motorcycle related. They were weather related, which was keeping myself and others from riding. Does it then count as motorcycle related since I can’t ride? It’s a fine line and a judgment call. Is the exploitation of women (and men... you know who you are LOL) biker related? Not really, but there does seem to be plenty of that to go around at rallies and what not. Tattoos...... Cigars.... I could go on and on about things that have close ties to lifestyle but aren’t motorcycle related. Steve has called out several posts (I hope you don’t mind me singling you out Steve) that are part of the natural cycle of posts. The “do you wave” post is one that comes to mind and shows up on every single site, but unless we are reviewing every new biker product to hit the streets, it might get real quiet around here. Old BP used to have a very lively news section, and while the news is still there, it doesn’t get nearly the attention that it used to. There used to be pages of pissed off bikers over accidents with "suggestions" on how the cager at fault should be dealt with. I would rather see the site evolve rather than dissolve, become irrelevant or just not be any fun to visit anymore. There are a lot of good people on this site and that’s part of the draw. I’ve met some, and with luck, will meet more as time goes on. Anyway... I’m done with my ramblings, but that’s my take on the subject.

I've already told BP this, but I think its a great idea. As I enjoy most, if not all, of the content posted by members, but I understand the need to keep the site looking like a site about motorcycles as well. I'll just have to add a few more people to the friends list.

Thank you Steve. Ive been looking for some feedback on the C2's for awhile now. I'll be needing a new set soon and I was debating on trying these out as well. I had myself just about talked into them already but was still a little hesitant. Now I know I will be trying these as my next tire. I have just one question. Hows the grip on them. Tread life seems great, which is part of the marketing hype of the C2, but are they as grippy as a softer tire?

I gotta agree with everyone here. The engine guard is nice for those oops moments. Dusty, it does look like he has a guard... if thats his bike. As for the highway pegs, thats almost a must have if you are going to be doing any long distance riding. At least for me. Being able to stretch your legs, or get them is a different position for awhile will make for a more comfortable ride. So to answer your question, I have both and neither were to make the bike look better.

I cant believe no one replied to this. I personally dont have or know anyone that uses Cobras right now, but I did just change out my pipes over the winter. Just changing the pipes might have a little impact, since they are only slip ons, but it may be a good idea to also do your air intake. My bike got Rush Crossovers, with an Arlen Ness Big Sucker, Power Commander V and an Auto Tune. Of course thats a full exhaust so about twice as much as slip ons. Performance gains for all of that were about 20% increased HP. From 60 to 71 HP iirc. It Sounds great, nice and loud without being obnoxiously loud. Torque went up too, but not as much as the HP.

I had a friend do this a year or two ago and loved it. I'll have to ask him what to avoid and get back to you. Im fairly certain he did not like the Racine area in WI and Gary, IN but I will double check just to be sure.

The prospect got stuck watching the bikes again.
